The Old Spaghetti Factory in Hollywood

When I was a little kid in the late 70s, it was the place we went for fun on super special occasions. Even then I remember thinking the spaghetti sauce was really watery, but the decor was quite fun. I didn't know it was closing down until I drove by a couple days ago and saw two guys carrying the velvet-covered seat of booth out the front door and saw "AUCTION" signs all around the building.

Looks like it's going to become another mixed-use development (condos over retail space). Hollywood is becoming more vertical.

OMY!And i was shocked 4 years ago(on return after a 15 year hiatus)that it was still there AND had people walking in and out.
I ate there once,i remember it vividlyLOL<like you,it was pretty dismal.
Not a L.A. defuntion but Pasadena, another place closed here,Monty's,i NEVER had been there and wanted to the past 4 years....well,last Saturday was their last day,WITH a big banner on their place for about a month saying 65 years in business....
I am aashamed,,,but then ,maybe the food there sucked too? Some places thrive even if it isn't much to write home about. The Spaghetti Factory..."memories".
    How sad...
