What happened to that creature ,very pre-Jerry Springer in the 1980's who had a "talk"show with scary people hollering his name and furniture being tossed through the air?
He was something i hope is defunct now.Anyone?

Re: Wally,Wally.....!
Thu, December 21, 2006 - 10:15 PMWally George! Yeeaaahh! Also, incidentally, Rebecca de Mornay's father, as I recall. I Wiki'd him, and he has been defunct since 2003. -

Re: Wally,Wally.....!
Fri, December 22, 2006 - 12:49 AMI saw him interviewed on a Bay Area talk show back in the late 80s and he wasn't really like Springer. Wally George as I recall was extremely right wing (he even put out a record sometime in the 80s) and would regularly attempt to bait his TV show guests, whereas Springer is just a carnival barker. Sorry to hear though he isn't around anymore.
And yes he was Rebecca de Mornay's father, the Bay Area talk show hosts made a point of mentioning that. :)

The world is a better place after all.....defunkt L.A. usually seems worse but in this case.....

Springer freely admits his show is total garbage, whereas Wally would never have admitted the same about his show. -

Re: Wally,Wally.....!
Fri, December 22, 2006 - 5:36 PMSpeaking of dear, departed Wally, I'm reminded of a similar guy named Joe Pyne who was equally as right wing (if not more so) and hosted a TV show back in the 60s.
And who's the conservative ex-congressperson in OC that used to be a TV commentator? His rants were always a hoot too. -

Re: Wally,Wally.....!
Fri, December 22, 2006 - 11:32 PMJoe Pyne was the pioneer of ideological blowhard talk shows. There's a bootleg DVD you can get of some of Pyne's stuff. I've been meaning to get a copy of it. Saw a review of it in Shock Cinema awhie back. -

Re: Wally,Wally.....!
Mon, December 25, 2006 - 9:09 PMJoe had helplessly stupid fringe people on. Alien worshipers, animal morality societies. Very farcical programs. I can't remember him talking to anyone legitimate. -
